Change Management Process

Steps

  1. Request Submission (form here: change_proposal_template.xlsx): requested change description, impact and scope; submission of change request
  2. Submission Review: specs verification, resource/asset requirements, cost-benefit analysis, submission approval/disapproval
  3. Development Plan: cost-benefit analysis review, review impact analysis, resource/asset allocation, change process scheduling
  4. Implementation: change processing, finalized schedules, revision implementation
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: milestone, success/issue monitoring and evaluation; change results assessment; process evaluation for future improvements; reporting findings, communicating evaluation to stakeholders and process owners

Tips

  • Prevent “Scoop Creep” by sticking to the plan
  • Frequent change proposals under same project could be an indication the project wasn't planned well.
